Brasserie La Cigale

Brasserie La Cigale (4 Place Graslin, Nantes) – this French restaurant has existed since 1895, and is considered one of Nantes’ best dining spots even today. Presidents and film stars have frequently visited its dazzling art nouveau interior, which was described by César-winning actor Jean-Louis Trintignant as ‘perhaps the most beautiful brasserie in the world’ – making this destination worthy of taking pictures, as well as eating. Designed by ceramicist Émile Libaudière, the rooms are packed with mosaics and frescos in electric blue, gold, brown and green, providing the setting for French film director Jacques Démy to shoot his film “Lola” in 1960.
